The 36-year-old national team profile will announce this to the public at a press conference today, Wednesday, at 12.30, which Aalborg Handball and Mikkel Hansen have called for to “tell more about the future cooperation between the parties”.
According to the summons, neither party has any comment before the press conference.
Outstanding career
Mikkel Hansen has played 266 international matches for Denmark, scored 1350 goals and – if he is selected for this summer’s Olympics – can end an outstanding career in the French capital Paris, which has meant so much to him.
It was in Paris that Mikkel Hansen played for 10 seasons before he returned to Danish handball with the transfer to Aalborg almost two years ago.
In the past he has also played for AG Copenhagen, Barcelona and GOG, he has been named the world’s best handball player three times – in 2011, 2015 and 2018 – and he has won almost everything a handball player can win. EC, WC, Olympics and countless championships.
Only the Champions League trophy has so far never been lifted by the handball star. He can still achieve that with Aalborg this season.
Mikkel Hansen has an official contract with Aalborg for one more season – until the summer of 2025.
