BAYERN MUNICH-REAL MADRID 2-2

It ended in a draw between the two giants in the first semi-final match in the Champions League.

Vinícius Júnior scored both of the visitors’ goals, while a projectile from Leroy Sané and a penalty from Harry Kane kept Bayern’s cup dream alive. On the first score of the evening, Min-jae Kim was overtaken by Real’s Brazilian star.

– He is simply outwitted, said TV 2’s Øyvind Alsaker after the goal.

When Leron Sane knocked in 1-1 from an angle, the same man closed his eyes.

– A solo performance from another world, said the commentator.

Two penalty scores after the break ensured that it ended 2–2.

The Spanish capital team has been in the Champions League final in five of the last ten seasons. The Spanish won all five finals.

They have not been to a Champions League final in five seasons. Then they secured the trophy after beating Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the final.

“Los Blancos” got off to a fantastic start to the match when Brazilian prodigy Vinícius Júnior knocked the visitors into the lead after 24 minutes. The scoring came after a fantastic breakthrough pass from Toni Kroos.

– There is no one in the world who can hit that pass better, said Jesper Mathisen.

Up front, however, the Germans had acquired a handful of chances, without being able to convert them into scores.

German party

After the break, the Germans continued their attacking football, and just seven or eight minutes into the half they finally scored when Leroy Sané fired a cannonball from the corner of the penalty area.

– It is a solo performance out of another world, stated Alsaker.

And that really fired up the German hosts. Just two minutes later they were on the attack again, and this time Lucas Vázquez had to resort to illegal means to stop Jamal Musiala.

This allowed Harry Kane to complete the turnaround from the penalty spot when he sent Andrij Lunin the wrong way.

Unfortunately for Bayern, Min-jae Kim was also unable to legally stop Rodrygo with eight minutes left on the clock. This allowed Vinícius Júnior to score his second goal of the evening on a penalty.

Trophy hunting

Real Madrid are having a fantastic season. They have won La Liga by a long way and still have the benefit of losing a game in the Champions League.

Bayern, on the other hand, are in a really difficult period, where for the first time in eleven years they did not win the league. They also crashed out of the German Cup early, which means they must win the Champions League if they are to end the season with a trophy.

It has also long been confirmed that coach Thomas Tuchel is done with the club after the season.

The return leg will be played in Madrid on 8 May. Before that time, Real Madrid will also host Cádiz in the league, while Bayern will visit Stuttgart. Both games will be played on Saturday.
