Fredrik Gulbrandsen, Tears | Gulbrandsen left the field in tears: – Heartbreaking

MOLDE – STRØMSGODSET 4–0:

Erling Moe’s men seriously showed that they are ready to take part in the gold medal this year with the show of force against Strømsgodset.

Eirik Hestad gave the home team a dream opening after 24 minutes, before Markus Kaasa doubled the lead from the penalty spot just after the break.

Kristian Eriksen made it 3-0 in the quarter before the end, before substitute Magnus Wolff Eikrem elegantly made it 4-0 in overtime.

But despite the offensive party football, Erling Moe will probably be a worried man going forward, as star striker Fredrik Gulbrandsen had to leave the pitch with what appeared to be a groin strain even before half an hour had been played.

– It is heartbreaking

On Sunday, Molde came with the crushing message that they have to manage the 35-million man Veton Berisha for several months due to injury.

Then it is not fitting that their second clear first choice in the forward position had to leave the pitch after barely half an hour in the season opener.

Fredrik Gulbrandsen (31) stayed seated and held on to his groin, and eventually told the bench that he had to throw in the towel.

– There is a crisis for Molde. He has been in amazingly good form at race tests and in the matches in Europe. He just flew across the grass. I understand that he is devastated, said TV 2’s football expert Jesper Mathisen.

The 31-year-old was clearly affected and moved to tears as he left the turf.

– It is heartbreaking, then. It’s simply awesome, commented Marius Skjelbæk.

– Too early to say how serious it is

Earlier this winter, Molde brought in the former Vålerenga and Sarpsborg 08 striker Aaron Samuel (29) to strengthen the width of the attack, but he was not part of today’s match squad.

Thus, 19-year-old midfielder Johan Johannesen Bakke came in for Gulbrandsen.

Molde leads 1-0 at the break after a goal by Eirik Hestad.

– Of course it’s absolutely terrible. He is insanely important to us, so it is clear that it is painful to see, Hestad said of his injured teammate.

Molde coach Erling Moe could not come up with any uplifting messages for the Molde supporters either:

– It didn’t look good. It is a bit early for me to say how serious it is, Moe told TV 2 during the break.
