This corresponds to just over NOK 120 million.

This means that Reynolds is starting to feel what it’s like to own a football club.

The club’s debt to the owners has grown sharply since the previous financial year. Reynolds and McElhenney bought the club for just over NOK 25 million in 2021 when Wrexham was at level five in English football. The team is followed in the Emmy-winning documentary series ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.

They lost the semi-finals of the promotion qualifiers in the 2021/22 season, but were promoted to League Two the following year. At the time of writing, Wrexham is in 3rd place, with good chances of reaching at least qualification for League One, the third level of English football. In that case, it will mean two promotions in a row.

The top three move straight up, while the next four go into a playoff for a final promotion place.

On Thursday, the club presented the accounts for the budget year that ended in June 2023. It states that the club’s turnover has increased by 75 per cent to around £10.5 million from £6 million, but that the deficit at the same time grew from £2.9 million to £5. 1 million pounds, which corresponds to close to NOK 70 million.

– The club is not under any immediate pressure to repay the loans at the expense of the progress we want to achieve, writes the club.

Furthermore, it is stated that additional funds will be raised to support future projects.

It says that income will increase sharply in the financial year that ends on 30 June 2024.

Wrexham are playing in the four professional divisions this season for the first time in 15 years. The number of spectators has tripled since the Hollywood stars took over, and is regularly over 10,000.
