On Sunday afternoon, Larvik HK J18 team met Aker in the final of the Lerøyserien, after winning over Sola in Saturday’s semi-final.

– Now we will prepare well for the final and give everything so that it is Larvik who stand as winners of tomorrow’s final, said coach Anette Tveter after the semi-final.

And it was clearly a well-prepared Larvik HK team that met for the final on Sunday afternoon. Because right from the first goal, the Larvikings had the upper hand in the match. Larvik HK took the lead in the match within the first minute, and maintained the lead until fifty minutes had been played.

The best on the field

Nora Rosenberg was voted the best on the pitch – she accounted for nine goals in the final.

The final score was 30-21 to Larvik HK.

– We play an incredibly good defensive game against Aker, where we get to stop their shooters. We feel that for large periods we have good control of the game. Going forward on the field, we drive tempo and play our game throughout the match, where we play the ball and make each other better, says coach Anette Tveter after the match.

She is full of praise for the girls’ efforts.

– I take my hat off to the girls’ performance this weekend and throughout the season! This will be celebrated with a big team party later, says Tveter.

Match report

1st round:

Larvik HK scores the first goal of the match, thanks to Kine Tveter. Mari Ellingsen and Linéa Nordsveen Hoffgaard also put the ball in the goal in quick succession. After three minutes played, the score is 3-0 to Larvik!

Aker gets a goal from the 7-metre, but Larvik HK are quick to fight back. Mari Ellingsen and Marie Daarstad score three goals in a minute and a half – the latter scores two of them. 6-1 to Larvik after seven minutes played, and Aker asks for a timeout.

It seems that the timeout has fired up Aker, because now they are thundering back. In the last four minutes, they have scored four new goals, reducing Larvik HK’s lead. Mari Ellingsen scores two more goals, so Larvik HK keeps the lead. 8-5 to Larvik!

Nora Rosenberg and Silje Fure thunder back against Aker, and both score two goals in quick succession. Aker also sneaks in a goal, but Larvik HK are superior again. 12-6 to Larvik!

The first half is over, and the score is 14-9 to Larvik.

2nd half:

Marie Daarstad scores the first goal of the 2nd half. Aker follows up after a few seconds. 15-10!

Nora Rosenberg scores another goal, but Aker is really on the ball now. They score three quick goals, and reduce the lead to Larvik HK. Malin Nordsveen Hoffgaard scores Larvik’s 17th goal – and the score is 17-13.

A lot has happened since the last update – Nora Rosenberg has set four goals, Marie Daarstad has set three and Mari Ellingsen has set one. But Aker has not let the ball lie dead, either – and has set five new goals. The score is 25-18 to Larvik!

It’s nearing the end of the game, but it’s still exciting. Linéa Nordsveen Hoffgaard put the ball in the goal for Larvik HK, but Aker fired back and scored three goals in the last two minutes. 26-21 to Larvik!

Aker player Stella Waagan Kruse receives a red card, and Nora Rosenberg puts the ball into the goal from the 7-metre. Tuva Engh Auby scores Larvik’s 28th and 29th goals with only a minute left in the game. 29-21 to Larvik!

The victory is in the box! Marie Daarstad scores the last goal of the match, and Larvik HK has won this year’s Lerøyserie!

Final result was 30 – 21 to Larvik HK!
