iFinnmark updates the case.

All the emergency services have moved out to the Stallogargo tunnel and Kvalsundbrua in Hammerfest municipality.

The police report that a car has driven into the mountain wall. There must be one person alone in the car who must be thrown out of the vehicle.

There is major material damage to the car, the police report, and an ambulance helicopter is on its way to the scene. The extent of the damage is currently unknown.

Vegtrafikksentralen reports that Kvalsund bridge is currently closed due to the accident.

Operations Manager, Tarjei Leinan Mathiesen, states that there were probably some passers-by who reported the accident and that the police are on the scene.

– The person who was injured was transported to Hammerfest hospital by ambulance, he says.

The accident area is cordoned off while the police investigate the accident.

– A forensic technician has been called out from Alta who has driven towards Hammerfest to help investigate what has happened, says Leinan Mathiesen.

The road was closed after the accident and there were queues on both sides of the accident site. The police have gradually opened one lane to take away the traffic.
