Nicolai Sverdrup (16) and the group of friends saw Freya chasing Kristina Dunn (44) while swimming on Friday afternoon.
Less than 20 minutes ago
The sun was shining and people were swimming at the Kadettangen in Sandvika on Friday afternoon.
– We were sitting on the jetty and had just had a bath when we saw a woman bathing out in the water. Suddenly there was a brown figure behind her.
Then Sverdrup picked up his mobile phone and started filming.
– People started screaming, “Get up! Get up!”. At first she didn’t hear what we screamed, but then she turned and then Freya was right behind her.

Kristina Dunn (44) was on her way to work in Sandvika when she decided to stop at Kadettangen and take a bath.
– I jumped into the water and it was so nice to swim. Suddenly I hear people on the pier start shouting at me.
“Shark Summer”
At first Dunn thought it was jellyfish in the water and swam the other way.
– Then at least ten people stand on the pier and shout at me that Freya is behind me. I quickly swim to shore and when I’m almost there I turn around. Then I see that the walrus is right behind me.
Dunn describes the whole incident as extremely scary. She now wants to warn others who are going swimming in the Oslo area.
– I felt like I was in “Jaws”, she concludes.
American “Jaws” is also the film that was given the name “Shark Summer” in Norwegian, and which struck a chord with bathers and cinema-goers for a long time in the 70s and 80s.
High adrenaline
The sixteen-year-old says Dunn seemed terrified when she finally got out of the water.
– It was a very scary situation. Everyone talked about it afterwards, says Sverdrup.
Dunn works as a DJ and plays regularly at Sandviken Folkebad.
– Will you be playing something from the “Jaws” soundtrack at work today?
– Yes, of course I will, she laughs.
Freya really became a celebrity after a visit to Kragerø earlier this summer, where she settled in and relaxed on several leisure boats. She has also done that in Oslo.

The police are warning
On Thursday, the police went out and warned after another woman was chased by the walrus in the same place.
– We received a message from a woman who was out swimming and who had experienced the walrus swimming after her, says operations manager Gjermund Stokkli in the Oslo police district to VG.
The police write on Twitter that they urge all bathers at Kadettangen and Sandviksbukta to keep their distance from the walrus. The harbor master in Bærum municipality has been notified of the incident, and according to what we have learned, will take measures in the area to notify bathers.
