A rock slide closes the road between the Stana tunnel and the Oksla tunnel on national road 13 near Tyssedal in Hardanger.
Vegtrafikksentralen received a report about the slide from avalanche guards at the site at 1:40 p.m., according to traffic operator Tom Erik Englaugstad.
– We had listening guards in the area because of the rainfall that had been reported. They called us when it started to rain, says Englaugstad.
Same place as last week
On Tuesday morning last week, there was a large rockfall in the same place. The road was then closed all day.

The collapse that came on Monday is not as big.
– It turns out that no large stones have come down. But it has come from well up on the mountain side with great speed, says Englaugstad.
Construction manager in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Rolf Anders T. Svensson, says that the fallout is related to the landslide last week. Three or four stones are said to have landed in the road, and the largest was around 25 kilos, according to the construction manager.
– There was very little that came, but the threshold for closing in that area is very low. When there was a landslide in the same place, we chose to close the road, says Svensson to TV 2.
Opens on Wednesday at the earliest
The road, which is now closed, is heavily used by tourists. On Wednesday, a geologist will probably come to check the situation in the area, and rv. 13 will be closed until then or Thursday, according to Svensson.
– We will open the road if the geologist considers it safe, when this period of rainfall is over, says Svensson, and urges motorists in the area to follow 175.no for information.
Detours are via the ferry connection Kvanndal-Utne on fv. 550, Jondal-Tørvikbygd on fv. 49 or Gjermundshamn-Årsnes on fv. 500.
