. Must let go of control

--

It is nothing new that Jenny Skavlan (37) is a busy lady, and in recent years she has made it big as a redesigner, and is among the country’s most high-profile “sewing-ers”.

– Took harsh measures

The 37-year-old is co-owner of the recycling app Tise and one of the founders of the company Fæbrik, which naturally requires a lot of work. Last summer, she honestly shared that she had taken a break

“Took hard measures after an intense spring that almost sent me into the wall,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.

Nettavisen met Skavlan on Thursday evening in connection with the Tise Awards, where she opens up further about what it is like to work with what she is most passionate about.

– Parents must take responsibility

She describes it as “demanding” and admits that she constantly felt stressed, especially during the periods when she had to give that little extra. Finally, she realized that she needed to set a boundary for herself.

However, it took some time before she was able to lower her shoulders.

– It’s a small muscle you have to train, both letting go of control and tolerating the fact that there are a huge number of balls in the air that haven’t landed in the hands, she tells the newspaper.

Turn around for the criticism

In last year’s Instagram post, Skavlan wrote that she took a number of steps such as taking a break from social media, meditating and reading books. It has resulted in her feeling better today both privately and at work.

– I am conscious because I know I can hit the wall. And I am dangerously close, dangerously often.

Skavlan points out that she still has a lot to do, but has now found her own way of working that works better than before.

– I live differently now, and I have found a number of techniques for that, she says in conclusion.
