--

Hamarøy is the same municipality where Stian Hole has been missing since June 2023.

The discovery of the freezer box was made when a farming company examined the bottom in the area.

– We consider this to be suspicious and will work to have this raised, says police attorney Torje Imøy to NRK.

He points out that they currently not has evidence to put this in connection with the Stian Hole case.

The police also have no indication that there are remains in the freezer.

Released from custody

Missing since June

The last sure sign of life from 41-year-old Stian Hole is Wednesday 7 June last year.

He is then pictured by a surveillance camera at a Joker shop at Storjord on Hamarøy in Nordland, together with a local man in his 50s.

After that, no one has seen him.

Since November last year, the man in his 50s has been in custody, charged with murder or complicity in murder. The same has a man in his 30s and Hole’s girlfriend, a woman in her 20s.

All deny criminal liability, and the police are still investigating the case.

What happened to Stian?

– Everything is interesting

Kristin Hammervik, attorney at law at Avdokatfirmaet Aga, is an assistant attorney for Stian Hole’s family. She tells Dagbladet that she became aware of the find some time ago, and that the family is aware that the matter is being investigated.

She has seen the pictures of the freezer that was found at the bottom of the sea.

– However, I have no basis to think whether it is interesting or not in connection with our case. We are awaiting the police’s further investigations, but everything found in the area is interesting to investigate further.
