The big winner of the evening during the Gullruten on Saturday night was the award-winning NRK series “Makta” – which through twelve seasons has shown the intense power struggle in the Labor Party at the end of the 1970s. Rarely have there been such high expectations for a series as there was before “Makta” premiered in October last year, and within a day close to half a million viewers had caught the first episode “It must be a woman”.

NRK ran away with a number of awards on Saturday night, with Makta responsible for three of them. The series, which is produced by Novemberfilm, won for “Best drama series”, “Best actor in a leading role drama” with Kathrine Thorborg Johansen as Gro Harlem Brundtland, and “Best actor in a supporting role drama” with Anders Baasmo as Odvar Nordli.
Makta was created by Johan Fasting, Silje Storstein and Kristin Grue, and even before the premiere had managed to attract attention abroad. During the Cannesseries, “Makta” won for best TV series and music, before the series received a so-called “Special Commendation” for best TV/video fiction in the Prix Europa.
Makta started the warm-up for Gullruten in mid-April when the series won five awards under Gullruten’s professional awards for “Best photo, “Best clip”, “Best casting”, “Best screenplay” and “Best direction” for Yngvild Sve Flikke.
