Here, the carpet seller is offered 5,000 dollars to sign a fictitious agreement

The former top politician Victor Stromček from Slovakia funneled millions through Norway. The money went, among other things, to buy a luxury property in France, VG could reveal on Wednesday.

The story about where the money came from was about a valuable database that Stromček was supposed to have bought and later resold.

Stromček is said to have bought the database from a man in Singapore. When VG found the seller, he turned out to be a carpet seller. He said that the agreement was fictitious.

– I have never met Viktor Stromček or sold him any database, says the man.

Two experts believe the transactions through the Norwegian telephone sales company are reminiscent of patterns seen in money laundering, which both Stromček and the company deny is the case.

The carpet seller says that he was promised 5,000 Singapore dollars in exchange for signing the agreement and producing papers that made the agreement appear more genuine.

The man who writes to the carpet seller is a Czech business partner of Stromček, called Erik Holubec.

For nearly a year, VG has been trying to get an answer from Erik Holubec. He has not responded to the newspaper’s inquiries.

He instructs the carpet seller to send over a photo of his expired passport.

Then the carpet salesman is told to create a fake CV, which says he has worked in data and technology.
