Two people have been confirmed dead after the helicopter accident in Verdal in Trøndelag on Tuesday. The deceased are a man and a woman, both in their 60s, the police told TV 2 on Tuesday afternoon.

One additional person who was on board the helicopter is said to be seriously injured, and that person is being cared for by the healthcare system.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are still unclear, but there must have been dense fog in the area when the accident occurred.

The helicopter was on a private flight, says task leader Stig Viken to NRK at 12.05.

– It was calm, but dense fog. We do not yet know what the cause is, says Viken to Trønder-Avisa.
