Storhamar handball Elite must find a new main sponsor after Boligpartner filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday.

The handball hall in Hamar is called Boligpartner Arena, and must therefore be renamed.

The general manager of the club, Kamilla Sundmoen, says the house company has been an important supporter for many years.

– It is incredibly sad that such a good and important supporter, as Boligpartner has been for us, will now be gone. They have been very important to us and our history, says Sundmoen.

Looking for a new sponsor

Now Storhamar handball will first clarify the situation with Boligpartner. Then the search begins for a new main sponsor who wants to have his name on the hall.

– Yes, it’s in the cards. But we know that it can be an attractive place for others to market themselves in, so we just have to think again and look at the opportunities that exist, says Sundmoen.

She does not want to say what the agreement with Boligpartner has been worth in kroner and øre to them.

Right at the top

Storhamar handball has been at the top of the elite series for ladies for many years. The team was relegated to the 1st division in 2015 due to poor finances, but moved up again the following season, when the club also became debt-free.

Storhamar is now placed as a good number two in the Norwegian league, behind reigning Champions League champion Vipers Kristiansand.

The team has won silver in the elite series in the last five seasons.

Notified tender

Boligpartner, which is now bankrupt, has its head office in Hamar.

BP Gruppen Norge AS announced a tender offer on Tuesday this week, after almost 30 years of operation. The company is a major supplier of houses and cabins, but after a long period of low construction activity, it was no longer possible to find solutions for further operation.

– We especially think of all our customers, employees, dealers, suppliers and partners who have stood by our side for many years, says managing director Eskild Wedvik.

BP Gruppen Norge had a turnover of NOK 1,438 million in 2022 and NOK 995 million in 2023.
