There was a drizzle in the air, but still a good number of participants when this year’s edition of Tjomsvannet round was organized by Søgne IL on Ascension Day, 9 May 2024.

– The number of participants is about the same as it has been in recent years. That means around 100 starters in the main race and around 200 runners in total in all classes, says Jon Fjeld from the sports team to N247.

“Lille Tjomesvannet”, a cross-country race for those up to 12/14 years of age with a distance of 1,500 meters was first on the program this time as well. Clear first to the finish in this class was Edvald Kalsås.

Immediately after, it was ready for “Bitte Lille Tjomsvannet”, a cross-country race for children up to 7/8 years of age and with a race length of 400 metres. Safely led by the hare of the race, the little ones made it through the race where everyone is a winner.

Results lists from the main race will be available on the website of Søgne IL during the day.

Many also take part in the Bitte Lille Tjomsevannet competition at Søgne old rectory.
