LANGHUS (Dagbladet): The government is now marking a shift in digitalisation in schools that happened with the Conservative Party in government.

In the revised national budget, knowledge minister Kari Nessa Nordtun (Ap), prime minister Jonas Gahr Støre (Ap) and children and family minister Kjersti Toppe (Sp) therefore promise NOK 300 million for books in schools in the revised national budget.

– On Erna’s watch, the school has been over-digitalised. An experiment has been carried out on our children, the extent of which we do not know. We cannot let it happen again, our children deserve better, says Kari Nessa Nordtun to Dagbladet.

– We are here to pay tribute to the book, the reading and the commitment that our children in school should get more textbooks. Textbooks must play a more important role. There have been too many screens in school, says Støre.

Kari Nessa Nordtun rejoices at what an extra book means for each pupil in primary school.

– I am incredibly happy today. We are working along several tracks to change the development of Norwegian schools. There are many arrows pointing in the wrong direction. We will strengthen reading skills, it is incredibly important for Norwegian children. We want the physical textbooks back, says Nessa Nordtun to the press.

Dagbladet updates the matter.
