In recent weeks, the police have worked hard to find more answers to why the accused killed his wife and two children at Torpo in Ål.

The police have now received answers to the toxicological tests that were taken in connection with the autopsies of those killed at Torpo in March.

The test results show that the dead were not under the influence of sedative drugs, says police attorney Ann Iren Svane Mathiassen in the South-East police district.

As previously stated, findings at the scene indicate that the dead were asleep when they were killed.

The police know that one of those killed slept with earplugs. This could be one of the explanations why the person in question did not wake up from gunshots.

One of those killed slept on one floor and the other two slept on the floor below.

The perpetrator, father of the two children and spouse of the murdered woman, took his own life after the murders. No charges will therefore be brought against the man.

Shot while they were sleeping

The three family members were shot while they were sleeping. The police believe the accused took his own life immediately afterwards.

The firearm used did not have a silencer.

Video surveillance images show that the accused murderer was at the pharmacy at Gol half a day before the murders on the night of Saturday 23 March.

The police have an overview of what the accused bought at the pharmacy before the murder, but have not wanted to comment on whether it has a connection to the case.

Three white chests

The police have concluded that the victims were shot during the night, and were only found on Saturday evening.

Provost Sveinung Hansen had expressed beforehand that the funeral was going to be tough for many. That was it.

– It was a nice and dignified farewell. The funeral does not mark the end, but it was a milestone. Now we can go a little further. There were many tears and sad faces, says Hansen.

Lawyer Helge Hartz assists those left behind after the triple murder.

– On behalf of the next of kin, I have been asked to express their despair and existence filled with bottomless sorrow, he says.
