– We don’t think it will be as hot as last time, but we should manage 20 degrees.

The Meteorological Institute writes on it https://twitter.com/Meteorologene/status/1787815918732460270Tuesday afternoon.

While Southern Norway got a real taste of summer last week, this week it is back to normal. Nevertheless, there are several reasons to look forward to the weekend.

– In Oslo, it seems that the temperature can be below 20 degrees. In Bergen, the picture is somewhat the same, with it rising steadily throughout the weekend, says meteorologist on duty, Espen Biseth Granan, to Dagbladet.

Trondheim gets slightly cooler temperatures on Friday and Saturday, with around 10 degrees, but recovers on Sunday, where it can be up to 16-17 degrees, according to the meteorologist.

Further north, in Bodø, temperatures will be just under 10 degrees on Saturday and Sunday, but in Tromsø it will be around 5-6 degrees during the day.

Here there are also opportunities for night frost.

17 May: – Hard to say

Although it is more demanding to report the weather further in time, Granan says that it looks as if the temperatures will hold until the start of next week – and towards the celebration of Constitution Day.

– It is difficult to say whether the temperatures will hold until 17 May, but there is a possibility of that.

The meteorologist points out that the calendar is going in the right direction with regard to higher temperatures.

– It looks like there will be a few days from Saturday in the Oslo area, where the temperature will stay at around 17-18 degrees, so it is starting to help.

Things also look promising in Western Norway at the beginning of next week, he says.

Periods of precipitation

Perfect temperatures, but should you get your umbrella? For several places in the country, the answer is “yes”.

– In Southern Norway, there may be precipitation in parts of Western Norway on Friday and into Saturday, especially in Northwest Norway and in Trøndelag and Møre.

In Eastern Norway, south of Stad and Dovre, little rainfall is forecast.

If you are in Northern Norway, it might be a good idea to prepare for a partly gray weekend.

– There is still a bit of rain from Thursday, and then it looks like it will get better late Friday and into Saturday. Also in Troms and in Finnmark there is still precipitation, says the meteorologist.

On Sunday evening, most people can breathe a sigh of relief – then the conditions are mostly dry all the country.
