The meteorologist has a discouraging message for everyone who has thought about Ascension Day on Thursday. In that case, you may have to take your umbrella with you.

– The map shows where we expect precipitation between 8am and 8pm on Thursday. Only Eastern Finnmark gets sun, everyone else has to make do with autumn weather. Southern Norway will receive less rainfall in the evening, the Meteorological Institute reports.

The scale will be around 12 degrees in Oslo, 9 degrees in Bergen, 8 degrees in Trondheim and 7 degrees in Tromsø.

It is not likely to be gloriously sunny on National Day either.

– It’s likely to be a good temperature across the country really – not too cold, not too hot. National Day is likely to have average May weather, meteorologist on duty at the Meteorological Institute Sigrid Auganæs told Dagbladet on Monday.

– Precipitation is very unstable in the spring, and it is particularly difficult for us to say anything about so long before May 17, she said further.

However, the meteorologist stressed that there is little chance of precipitation in the whole of southern Norway, right up to Nordland and the Helgeland coast.
