Peace. Olsen plumps in Akersmyra

--

From the Facebook pages of No to the razing of Akersmyra.

Peace. Olsen Renewables AS wants to invest in a “solar park” at Akersmyra in Tønsberg/Sandefjord. There is great local opposition to the project and a public meeting in the Samfunnssalen at Sem was filled to the brim when the residents of the area rallied against these plans on 24 April. The project lacks local acceptance and should therefore be shelved as soon as possible, was the clear conclusion at the meeting.

Christina Fjeldavli, Rødt Tønsberg, and Håvar Bettum, Tønsberg Venstre write in Tønsberg Blad:

It is not only the residents of Sem who say no to Fred. Olsen’s plans to carpet the marsh with solar panels. At the public meeting, it became clear that the project lacks local political anchoring. Representatives of the Conservative Party, the Progressive Party, the Liberal Party, the Center Party, the Labor Party and the Red Party were all clear in their speech. All say no to solar power plants at Akersmyra.

There are many indications that Fred. Olsen is wasting his time with the Akersmyra project. Gaute Tjensvoll, the company’s permanent representative in solar and wind power matters, expresses great frustration about this in a debate article published in Tønsbergs Blad (TB) on 26 April. Despite the fact that there is now a political majority against the solar power plans at Sem, he directs his fire at Rødt alone. “Why do Fjeldavli and Rødt think that we should maintain our extreme consumer society?” he asks, which becomes pure straw man argumentation. Both Venstre and Rødt will cut consumption, including through energy efficiency measures and investment in solar power.

Want to build solar power plants the size of 80 football pitches: – This is new in Norway

On Fred’s website. Olsen Renewables, we can read the not entirely well-chosen title:

Peace. Olsen Renewables develops wind power projects from “cradle to grave”

Here the company publishes an overview of its projects. Akersmyra is not yet on the list.

Peace. Olsen Renewables is naturally controlled by Fred. The Olsen company Bonheur, which is again controlled by Fred. The Olsen family. But we note that some of the usual suspects with State Street and JP Morgan (that is: Vanguard, BlackRock and State Street) at the forefront are here too.

The top elite of Norwegian financial capitalists join forces with the biggest profiteers on Wall Street to destroy Norwegian nature and squeeze maximum profit out of it. All the best for “the green shift”, of course.

Snowed in

One of the groups involved in this rat race to destroy Norway is a company that calls itself Fresh snow. Snowed in would have been a better fit, especially when you see the company’s report on Capital access to climate technology.

Completely without irony or insight, they present the report with this illustration which, in a more revealing way than they probably intended, shows what their wet dream is.

Nysnø is actually a wholly owned state company, and it is stated on the government’s website that:

The State owns Nysnø to contribute to access to capital for investments in early-stage companies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The state owns 100 percent of the shares in Nysnø. The state’s goal as owner is the highest possible return over time within a sustainable framework.

Here, then, we have a corporate alliance of the state and Norwegian/foreign financial capital which together aim to plunder Norway of its natural resources. The resistance movement should know what we stand against and develop accordingly.
