Trondheim city administration has measured deviations in water quality in one of its routine tests of drinking water in Ranheim athletics hall.

Although the problem is probably local, everyone in an area of ​​Ranheim is asked to boil their water as a precaution. Telephone alerts have been sent out to around 8,000 residents in Ranheim.

Trondheim bydrift encourages everyone to boil water for drinking or cooking.

Trondheim bydrift publishes updates on its websites, on Facebook and X.

Tests have been taken on the main water line, and test results are expected on Friday 3 May.

Follow-up tests were taken at several test points on Thursday 2 May. These test answers are expected at 12.15. An update will be posted when we know more. The boil warning applies until further notice.

It is only the samples inside the Ranheim athletics hall that show detection of E-coli. Therefore, the cooking recommendation for this building is maintained. Trondheim municipality will continue to work to find the source of contamination in the building.
