(SANDNESPOSTEN): It got a lot of attention when Sandnesposten was able to share Nettavisen’s photo of the parking fine Viggo Kristiansen received from Sandnes parking last Tuesday.
He was in Sandnes to give his statement in the trial against former friend Jan Helge Andersen.
Viggo Kristiansen received a parking ticket in Sandnes
The fine has been deleted
During the court day, Kristiansen had received a parking ticket. The fine was the net sum of NOK 660, from Sandnes parking.
When Kristiansen returned to the car, after the end of the court day, it was a police officer who followed him throughout the day and removed the fine from the car route.
Sandnesposten has contacted Sandnes parking, by manager Nina Lura. She confirms that the fine has now been withdrawn.
– The imposition has been remitted/deleted, writes Nina Lura in an SMS to Sandnesposten.
– Used to the police making mistakes
Viggo Kristiansen’s lawyer, Brynjar Meling, writes in a message to Sandnesposten that his client is not used to having incorrect decisions against him.
– Viggo parked where he was shown a space by the police upon arrival, says Meling.
– He is so used to the police getting it wrong, whether it is teledata, DNA or witness interviews in serious legal cases, Meling continues and sends a jab in the direction of what has been referred to as the biggest judicial murder in Norwegian history.
The lawyer further points out that the parking fine is of little importance in the big picture, but that it can still create joy.
– A parking fine is a trifle in this context, but he is probably happy in principle that the police took responsibility for the fine in this case, he concludes.
