On Thursday just before 2 p.m., the emergency services went out after receiving a report of a grass/forest fire.

The police report on X that this is at Vestersivegen in Grane municipality.

Operations manager Tommy Bech states that the fire was reported by people on the scene.

– The area on which it burns must be approximately one metre. The fire scene is at Vestersivegen, just north of Svenningdalen. The emergency crews are on their way to the scene now, says Bech at 1.57pm.

110 Nordland reports on X that the fire brigade has arrived at the scene, which is by the railway in Svenningdalen.

Updated at 14:30: The police report on X that two people are taken to hospital for a check-up after inhaling smoke.

– The fire brigade is working on the scene. They have the fire under control and are working to prevent further flare-ups, the police report.

Updated at 14:57: The police report that around three acres of grass have been burnt.

– The fire service is still extinguishing the fire, but they are under control.

The police are opening a case into the incident.
