Sending shockwaves: – – What the hell is wrong with people?

The cat Prins was shot and killed with an air weapon on Tuesday, according to Animal Protection in Fredrikstad and surroundings.

Prins is said to have been shot sometime between 9:30 and 10 p.m.

He then went staggering out into Borregaardsveien in Sarpsborg, where he eventually died.

It was an eyewitness who alerted the police after hearing a bang.

Animal protection says that Prins was transported to Fredrikstad Animal Hospital, where X-rays showed two projectiles in the chest, as well as an older projectile in one hind leg.

This may indicate that Prins has previously also been exposed to shooting.

In a Facebook post, they urge the local population to be extra aware and protect their pets.

“The police are investigating the case, and anyone with information about the cruel act is asked to get in touch to help find the perpetrator,” they write.

– Sick, sick bastard

After they posted the post on Facebook, the comments poured in:

“What a sick, sick bastard! Probably a psychopath. Normal people don’t do that!”

“Damn … Time for animal police! And time for the same punishment for killing an animal as a human, this is also life! Warm thoughts are sent to those who have lost their loved ones, may they rest in peace.”

“What the hell is wrong with those people? They are innocent animals. I sincerely hope the pig is caught and punished.”

Strong reactions

In the Facebook post, Animal Protection writes that violence against animals is considered a serious crime, and that such actions are often a sign that the perpetrator can also be dangerous to people.

“This tragic death has provoked strong reactions in the local community, and many sympathize with the family who have lost their beloved Prince under such brutal circumstances,” they conclude.
