(BA): After the bar visit, the woman and another girl went with the man in a taxi to his hotel. The next day she reported him for rape.
– She wanted more money and threatened to report me for rape, says the pensioner in her 60s.
Now the woman, in her 20s, is being prosecuted for giving an incorrect explanation to the police and for having tried to falsely accuse the man of rape.
Judge intervened
She messed up when she had to explain herself in Hordaland District Court on Monday.
At first she pleaded guilty when the indictment was read out, but when she began to explain herself there was little she remembered and even less that reminded her of a repentant sinner.
It ended with Judge Kristin Farstad having to intervene and ask her to have a conversation with her defender in the hallway about the way forward. The guilty verdict could not be based on the judge.
After a short break, the woman returned to the courtroom and made it clear that she pleaded not guilty to the indictment.
Met at the bar
It was an April evening two years ago that the young woman met the pensioner at a bar in central Bergen. The woman had been in contact with him several times before, both physically and via an online service for people with special sex fetishes.
– She was relatively active at the bar. She suggested going to my house in a taxi, the pensioner said.
The young girl also joined the taxi.
– It was not successful, and it ended relatively quickly, according to the man.
He therefore had sex with both the girl and the woman in her 20s that night.
Threatened to report
Pictures from the surveillance camera in the reception of the Citybox hotel on Danmarks plass show the three entering the main door, before they leave the hotel again a little later in the night.
– She wanted more money and threatened to report me for rape. I finally gave in and took out the 2,000 kroner I had in the ATM. She wanted 5,000, but I didn’t have it.
The following day, the woman in her 20s turned up at the police station and reported him for rape.
She told the police that she did not know the man before, but knew his first name. At the same time, she said that she had been alone with the man in the room.
– Why didn’t you tell about your acquaintance with the man, and that you had previously had sex, prosecutor Marcus Monsen wanted to know.
– I thought it was not relevant.
Abrasions on the knees
The woman explained that she had been very drunk, and that on the way home she had fallen and got scrapes on her knees.
The police investigated the report, but did not immediately make an arrest. Her explanation rambled and didn’t quite make sense.
But two days later, the police arrested the man in his 60s. Not for rape, but for sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old.
He explained that he didn’t know she was that young.
The accused woman was also asked what she thought when she brought a young girl with a man over 60.
– No, I didn’t think about it, answered the woman, who repeated that she had been extremely drunk.
Now the woman risks a prison sentence for making a false statement.
The prosecutor’s claim was 120 days in prison, half of which was conditional on a two-year probationary period.
The pensioner does not escape the legal system either. He was recently charged in another case, for having sex with a minor.
The plea was one year in prison. Judgment in this case is not yet ready.
