Larvik, Burglary | Now the man is facing consequences after the break-in: – We are noticing a clear increase

--

– The reason for this is that the person has many unsettled cases, and that there is a risk of repetition, says crime boss at the police in Larvik, Hege Skar.

Busted

On the night of Monday, Lars Andreas Grønneberg in Dr. Holms vei in Byskogen took action after his wife had heard suspicious noises outside the bedroom window.

The surveillance camera on the property had caught burglars who, among other things, took tools from the family’s outhouse, and Grønneberg pursued the thieves when they were on their way away from the property.

Shortly afterwards, two men in their 20s were arrested, and the stolen goods from Dr. Holm’s path were recovered.

More thefts

Later that day, Hege Skar was able to tell Østlands-Posten that the police had received further reports about places where unauthorized persons had been traveling the previous weekend.

– We are now experiencing that we are receiving more reports of serious thefts, and that many have happened in the same area, says Skar.

– We have now arrested two more people, and they will now be questioned, she says.

Adult actors

Hege Skar says that the person who will now be produced for remand was one of the two who were behind the gross theft from Dr. Holms vei. The other two who have now been arrested were behind a burglary later that week, and in the same area.

– What kind of people are behind these break-ins and thefts?

– We are talking about people who are adults. Essentially in the 20s, says Skar.

– Are we talking about so-called itinerant or mobile criminals?

– We have no reason to believe that in these cases, says Skar.

Looking for context

In the last week, the police have also reported thefts from cars and car and motorcycle parts.

There have also been reports of at least two car thefts in the area recently, and the police in Vestfold confirmed earlier this week that they are looking into the possibility that there may be a connection between the thefts.
