Sharp chassis adjustment and reduced weight thanks to components made of CFRP are among the specialties of the new model variant which, in addition to being comfortable on the road, also has properties that are well suited for track driving.

The six-cylinder in-line engine, eight-speed M Steptronic gearbox and M xDrive intelligent four-wheel drive give the new special edition dynamic balance. Instant power delivery enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds.

Extra powers

The special edition is powered by a particularly powerful version of the six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology with a maximum output of 550 hp. Maximum torque of 650 Nm is available in the range of 2750 to 5950 revolutions. It develops maximum performance at 6250 rpm and the red mark is located at 7200 rpm.

It enables a sprint to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and you hit 200 km/h in 11.1 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 302 km/h.

The forces are transferred to the asphalt through the M xDrive system. The setup menu allows 4WD Sport mode to be selected, which sends an even greater proportion of the engine’s torque to the rear wheels. The driver can also switch off the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system entirely and engage pure rear-wheel drive via 2WD mode.

Gorgeous details

The special edition model is equipped with M Compound brakes with calipers painted in red or black. If you choose to equip the car with carbon ceramic brakes, the color choice is red or matt gold paint.

Collector’s item: extra angry BMW M4 for 2 million

The BMW M4 CS comes as standard with forged M light-alloy wheels in an exclusive V-shaped design – available in either matt gold bronze or matt black. The light wheels, 19-inch on the front axle and 20-inch on the rear, are fitted as standard with so-called “gate slicks” to maximize the experience on the racetrack. Customers who mainly want to use their BMW M4 CS for daily driving can choose other tires.

During testing on the Nordsløyfa, the new BMW M4 CS set an official time of 7 minutes 21.989 seconds on the 20.832-kilometre track.

Lightweight design

Extensive use of lightweight design elements plays a major role in shaping the exclusive character of the BMW M4 CS. The use of components made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) is the key here. The carbon fiber roof is a good example. Its low weight brings the car’s center of gravity closer to the road and thus improves agility and cornering dynamics. All in all, lightweight design elements bring the car’s weight down by around 20 kg compared to the BMW M4 Competition Coupé.

The car emphasizes its sporting ambitions through a series of individual design elements. The new BMW Individual special paint colors Riviera Blue and Frozen Isle of Man Green Metallic are exclusively available for the new special edition. It is also available in the exterior colors M Brooklyn Gray metallic and Sapphire Black metallic.

Visible carbon

Surfaces in exposed carbon fiber for the roof and the two scoops in the bonnet show the material’s distinctive structure.

The headlights are another specialty of the CS edition. They glow yellow instead of white while the low beam or high beam is on – a reference to other GT racing cars.

The driver’s seat in the BMW M4 CS focuses exclusively on delivering an exciting driving experience, while blending the car’s racing genes with comfort features for everyday driving. M Carbon racing seats come as standard, fully electric and heated, with integrated headrests and an illuminated model badge.

The order books will be open from the end of May, and prices start at NOK 2,343,000.
