As HA previously wrote, Schibsted has taken over all newspaper distribution from Amedia, with full effect from 1 July. The takeover includes the routes on Hedmarken, but most of them will continue as they are today.

Before that time, a number of planned changes to the route network will take place throughout Norway. The aim is to cut down on animals and environmentally unfriendly driving in areas where there is a long distance between mailboxes that are supposed to have newspapers.

As of 2 May, the second of two main reductions will take place in HA’s original distribution network.

This time, 393 households are being transferred to delivery with Posten. Most of them live on Helgøya, Nes, Nybygda and Holmen, Brøttum, Åsmarka, Næroset and Gaupen in Ringsaker. Some at Espa, Ådalsbruk and Åsvang.
NB! All households concerned have been notified directly this week.

Including those whose routines were changed on 1 March, a total of 440 complete subscribers are affected – or around 5 per cent of those who still receive HA delivered home on paper.

Last with the Saturday newspaper

As a result of the takeover, a number of newspapers have moved publication of the weekend paper edition from Saturday to Friday. In this round, Gudbrandsdølen follows Dagningen after OA, Østlendingen and Glåmdalen and cuts paper on Saturday.

This means that HA is the last of the major newspapers in the interior to continue to be published on paper on Saturdays.

– We wish we could ensure that everyone who wants it would still get HA for Saturday breakfast. To the 400 who will now have to wait a little longer in the day to get a newspaper, I would like to say that we really want them to use our app, so they can read eavis (“paper pages on screen”) and news exactly when they will, says HA editor Katrine Strøm.

– We are happy to help them log in, if they don’t have family or friends to help. It often happens that we receive people in our foyer in Grønnegata, she says.
