Last night, the Russians carried out a “large-scale” missile and drone attack against Ukrainian power plants, reports Ukrainska Pravda.

– Heating and hydropower plants in the central and western oblasts suffered damage, reports the state energy company Ukrenergo.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy states that the attacks were aimed at power plants in Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava and Cherkasy.

The anti-aircraft alert went off at 04:00 local time last night, after a number of incoming cruise missiles from several directions were detected.

Polish and other NATO warplanes were sent up in connection with the attack.

– All necessary procedures to secure Polish airspace have been implemented, stated the Polish military high command last night.

Last weekend, a Russian missile briefly entered Polish airspace.

There are reports of power outages and problems with the water supply in, among other places, Dnipropetrovsk after last night’s attack. According to the Ministry of Energy, the fire service and technicians are in the process of “handling the situation”.

Mykola Oleshchuk, the head of Ukraine’s air defense, states on Telegram that last night’s attack was carried out with Shahid drones, ballistic Iskander missiles and hypersonic Kinzjal missiles. According to him, the vast majority were shot down.

According to the authorities, the capital Kyiv is among the targets attacked last night, but Governor Ruslan Kravchenko reports on Telegram that no people were injured; two residential buildings sustained damage caused by falling debris from missiles and/or drones.
