(Avisa Nordland) Several people were a little too eager on the gas pedal on the way to the Easter holiday on Wednesday afternoon. UP takes this seriously, and warns of more checks during the Easter holidays to weed out the rough riders. NRK mentioned the case first.

The emergency police had speed control on the E10 in Narvik, between Veggfjellet and Bjervik, on Wednesday.

The check yielded results: 90 motorists received speeding fines at the same place.

Operations manager in the Nordland police district, Kai Eriksen, believes that 90 speeding fines in one day are too many.

– I don’t have any statistics from last year, but 90 is too many. We can say that right away, he says to NRK.

Seen in the light of UP’s big catch on the big departure day, the police are now warning about frequent checks during Easter.

UP and the police will also carry out other checks in Easter traffic, namely mobile phone use and non-use of seat belts.

– Observe the speed limits, drive without drugs, pay attention, wear your seat belt and leave your mobile phone in the car. If we manage to get the motorists to do their bit to ensure that we get a safe traffic flow, then it will be a pleasant Easter for all of us, says UP boss in the north, Geir Martinsen to NRK.
