An 18-year-old was taken to hospital with stab wounds after a violent incident near Brekkeparken in Skien.
Random
The episode occurred on the street outside a home where there had been a party. According to witnesses Varden has spoken to, there were around 15-20 people nearby when the 23-year-old attacked the 18-year-old.
Shortly afterwards, three friends happened to be driving in the area.
– We see 15-20 people standing in the street. We go outside to see what is going on and are told that there has been a stabbing. Then we see someone kicking the man who is supposed to have stabbed him, says one of the three who came driving to the scene.
Pull out the knife again
– We go away and see that he pulls out the knife again. Then there are many around who withdraw. Then he pulls one of us over the man with a knife, and the other two of us try to take the knife away from his hand, he says.
The three had to fight hard to get the knife free.
– It took a lot, because he wasn’t interested in letting it go. He started fencing with the knife, but when people pulled away, we did the opposite and got hold of the knife, he says.
Many witnesses
The police say they have a good overview of the incident and that they have interviewed many witnesses.
– We have interviewed many witnesses. Interrogation of the victim and of the person charged in the case is also planned, says police lawyer Julie Sandvik.
– Do you know why the 18-year-old was stabbed?
– We currently have a good overview of what has happened. But I cannot comment until the interrogations of those involved are finished. This has happened outside. The scene is out in the street, outside where there has been a party. We have planned to question the victim soon and will also question the accused, she says.
