The fact that Ingvild Kjerkol (Ap) was dismissed as health minister did not only have consequences for Ingvild Kjerkol.
It also meant that her deputy, who has met in the Storting for two and a half years, had to leave.
May Britt Lagesen from Steinkjer has sat on the finance committee and the energy and environment committee since 2021, but has also been elected to the municipal council in Steinkjer.
There, she has now applied for an exemption from the municipal council and the chairmanship for three months, writes Trønder-Avisa. The reason is that she wants a longer holiday.
– Do not share with anyone
Lagesen tells Trønder-Avisa that she has a holiday home in Spain. She has applied for leave from 20 April to 12 May, and writes in the application that she will start a new job in July. Which job, she will not reveal to the newspaper.
– I don’t share that with anyone, she says.
– Does the new job mean that you are moving back home to Steinkjer?
– I’m not saying anything about that now, she answers the newspaper.

The application has not been processed, but Lagesen gives the impression that she will miss meetings if it is not approved.
– And I could have missed the meetings during the period, but I think it is more predictable to apply for leave. It is important to be prepared and present in politics, and it will be difficult for me in this period, she tells Trønder-Avisa.
Lagesen has not responded to Nettavisen’s inquiry on Friday.
