– A patrol moved out on Saturday evening after receiving a report of concern from a family member, says police station chief Brit Fyksen at Midtre Hallingdal police station.

The police notified the media about the incident at 10.25pm ​​on Saturday evening. The report of concern was received by the police earlier in the day.

– When the patrol arrived, they found four people in the home. All were confirmed dead, she says.

Crime scene technicians from the police arrived at the scene at 1am. Kripos is also involved in the investigation. The crime scene technicians left the scene around 3 a.m. on Sunday.

Two police cars were left to keep watch at the scene.

The police’s task leader Torben Henriksen at the scene spoke to the press present at 1.30 on the night of Sunday and he then stated that the police have an idea of ​​when the four died.

– The police are investigating the crime scene. We have an idea of ​​when they died, but we are not going into details now, the investigation will show that, says Henriksen.

He does not want to comment on what the police have done with the seizure, or whether weapons have been found at the scene. He also does not want to say anything about the gender or age of the four who have been found.

The police emphasize that they have no indications that there are more people involved in the incident, and they are not looking for any perpetrators.

– It is too early to say anything about the relationship between the deceased, since they have not been formally identified, says Fyksen.

She further says that there are four people registered as residents at the address and that their next of kin have been notified.

The police have announced a press conference about the deaths at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

– Deeply tragic

Mayor of Ål municipality, Solveig Vestenfor, tells Hallingdølen that this is deeply tragic.

– When this happens in small local communities, it feels extra hard, she says.

Brit Fyksen also calls what has happened deeply tragic.

– I am thinking especially of the next of kin and those who know those who have died. It is an incredibly tragic event, says Fyksen.

Torpo is a small village with 300–400 inhabitants located along national highway 7 in Hallingdal, around 11 kilometers east of the municipal center Ål.

– Grief and crisis teams have been notified. Their job is to look after their relatives, says the mayor.
