Wiski was among the first investors in companies such as Tibber, Easee, Chooose and Optio, but ended its investment period at the end of 2021. Now comes the successor fund, which has been christened Future Ventures.

– Many of the good names had already been taken, but Futurum came up in a brainstorming process. Futurum is about what will happen, and we are very satisfied, says Monika Inde Zsak, partner and co-founder of Futurum Ventures to Finansavisen.

The new fund has raised 500 million and will invest in Norwegian and Nordic technology companies. Twelve investments have already been made in companies such as Spoor, Glint Solar and Aiba.

The team in the fund consists of Øystein R. Skiri, Lars Lydersen and Monika Inde Zsak. Among the advisers and investors in the fund are several well-known tech profiles, among others Andreas Slettvold from Chooose, Erik Færevaag from Easesee, Silje Landevåg from Get Inspired and Øyvind Reed from Whereby. Salmar Heir Gustav Magnar Witzøe is, according to the websites, still part of the extended team.

The plan is to divide the investments into two categories, growth and early phase, where one will enter with between 1-5 million in the early phase and 10-20 as an initial investment in the growth companies.

– In the early phase, we enter with a smaller amount, as a listening post. In the growth phase, we have so far taken positions of 10 to 15 percent ownership, Zsak further tells Finansavisen.

The fund is particularly on the lookout for SaaS companies, hardware with software as part of the value proposition and other tech companies working towards the green shift.
