Ukraine’s leaders have reacted with disgust to a video purported to show Russian soldiers shooting and killing a prisoner of war.
The video, which has been published by several media outlets, shows a man in a Ukrainian uniform shouting “long live Ukraine” before he is apparently killed by multiple gunshots. It has not been possible to independently confirm that the video is genuine.
Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba says he is devastated after seeing the video.
– Each of these crimes will be punished. Nobody can escape, says President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He emphasizes that it is against the Geneva Conventions to kill prisoners of war.
Zelenskyj has sent the video to several colleagues abroad as proof of “another Russian war crime”.

– War crimes are cultivated in Russia, says chief of staff Andrij Jermak at the Ukrainian president’s office. He says this is an example of Russian weakness.
