In Sweden, there are strong reactions on Sunday to the fact that a 15-year-old was shot and killed in a sushi restaurant the night before.

The person who is suspected of the murder is also under the age of 18.

According to SVT’s sources, the murder is connected to a recent wave of violence in Stockholm and Uppsala, where two criminal gangs regularly clash over the drug trade.

– It is unimaginable that children are involved in a gang war, says a person in the area to Aftonbladet.

A woman tells the same newspaper how she entered the restaurant and saw the boy lying on the floor:

– I think he was already dead, but I tried to do everything I could. It took time before the police and the ambulance arrived. I wish I could have done something more, says the woman.

Police officer Reine Berglund tells Expressen that he arrived at the scene and recognized the 15-year-old.

– It is terrible. There is a boy we have been worried about recently, says Berglund.

Explosions

That same night there were explosions in two suburbs of Stockholm.

The explosions caused material damage to the entrance to two homes, but no one was injured, the police said.

One home is connected to a well-known Swedish rapper, according to Expressen, which also writes that the rapper is currently abroad.

The police are investigating whether there is a connection between the shooting incident and the explosions.

Dagens Nyheter has interviewed a woman who lives near another block of flats where there were explosions earlier in January:

– Many people are scared, but I am the most cursed, she says.

According to the prosecutor’s office, a boy under the age of 18 was arrested at three o’clock on the night of Sunday. He is suspected of having contributed to murder.

The shooting incident took place on Saturday evening at 6pm inside a sushi restaurant in the Skogås district south of Stockholm, according to Aftonbladet.

On Sunday, forensic technicians continued their investigations at the site, which has been cordoned off. The police are investigating whether the shooting incident was caught on film by surveillance cameras, and a number of people have been questioned.
