– Couldn’t speak

Just hours before she was killed, Naznet arranged a meeting with her friends. Then she was supposed to update them about the love affair with the 33-year-old, now accused of murder.

– I spoke to her on the phone on April 4. Then she was in the shop with him (the 33-year-old accused of murder). She said that things had changed with regard to the wedding, but she could not speak while she was with him, says Ghenet Mesfin to VG.

The police have secured surveillance images from the grocery store in question, which show Naznet together with the 33-year-old accused of murder.

– She did not want to say more. She didn’t want to talk until she was alone, says Mesfin.

Didn’t answer the phone

In total there were five of them, including Naznet, who were supposed to talk together.

– It was not possible to reach her. We received no response. The next day, the police called me, says Mesfin.

Naznet was found murdered in her apartment in Lørenskog on 6 April. It was a concerned colleague who found her and notified the police.

In the apartment, the police found what is supposed to be the murder weapon: a kitchen knife from Ikea.

VG has previously spoken to family members who say that Naznet must have regretted her wedding plans.

The police have also made several discoveries on her mobile phone, which show that shortly before she died she was looking for advice on how “look up” and “break off an engagement”.

– It had gone very quickly from the time they met until they planned the wedding. We were prepared for a wedding at the end of April. We hadn’t heard anything about changes before the phone call from the store, says Mesfin.

– Does not make sense

The friends find it difficult to understand the trial – especially the 33-year-old accused of murder.

In the courtroom, the 33-year-old denied having anything to do with the murder. He has also claimed that he was the one who wanted to cancel the wedding plans.

The 33-year-old has occasionally appeared reluctant to answer questions in court.

– It is unfair. It does not make sense. We have lost a friend. He doesn’t give any answers, he talks about Naznet as if she were nothing, says Kebedom.

The 33-year-old’s defender, lawyer Øystein Storrvik, does not want to comment on the case before the closing the procedureThe part of a trial where the lawyers summarize their arguments and evidence for the judge and jury before making a decision. in the trial.
