Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin apologized on Tuesday for a photo taken of two women who were at a party in the official Prime Minister’s residence.

Marin explained that she had invited friends to take a sauna in the prime minister’s residence Villa Bjälbo after the Ruisrock rock festival.
On Tuesday, a photo of two partygoers circulated on social media. The two women kiss each other while holding a sign reading “Finland” in front of their bare breasts.
– This picture is not appropriate and it should not have been taken, said Marin at a press conference in Helsinki with President Sauli Niinistö.
Marin stated that the photo was taken in the toilet in the prime minister’s residence, reports Yle.
She added that nothing remarkable happened during the evening. She and the guests spent the evening in the sauna, in the guest toilet and outside the building.
The evening in question is the only private event she has personally organized during the holidays, Marin explained. In addition, many other official celebrations have been held in the official residence during the summer.
Marin further said that the party did not pose a security threat.
– Security is always monitored at Villa Bjälbo, and the guards have been aware of who is there, said the Prime Minister.
The image comes after the much talked about video that became known last week. In the video, Marin can be seen dancing with friends at a private party. To avoid speculation about whether she had used drugs, Marin took a drug test. The result was clear on Monday and showed that Marin had tested negative.
