Noelia Voigt (24) won Miss USA in September, but is now withdrawing for reasons of her mental health.

«This probably comes as a big shock to many», writes Voigt on Instagram.
«I have represented Utah with pride, and later the USA in Miss Universe. Unfortunately, I have now made the very difficult decision to step down as Miss USA 2023», she explains further.
Voigt says she strongly believes in making “choices in life that feel right for the psyche”.
«You should never compromise on physical and mental health. Health is our wealth», she writes.
«We grow as people through experiences, where we learn new things about ourselves.”
The 24-year-old is the first Venezuelan-American woman to win Miss USA.
She does not give any details as to why she has now decided to retire.
The Miss USA organization expresses its understanding of the pageant winner’s decision.
They write that they have great respect for her resigning for health reasons.
«The health of our misses weighs heaviest of all», they write on Instagram, along with a photo of the newly crowned Voigt.
The 24-year-old reigned as Miss USA for just over eight months. She also ended up among the top 20 (out of a total of 84 contestants) during Miss Universe in November.
Now the apparatus will choose an inductee for, and promises to announce the name of the person in question before too long.
Voigt assures that the time as Miss USA has been “meaningful”.
«My hope is that I can continue to inspire others to be steadfast, take care of their own psyche and fight for themselves by using their voice.»
«A million thanks to everyone for the support. Now a new chapter starts, and I hope you will follow me further», she tells her followers.
