The number of Russian soldiers who have been killed or injured is approaching half a million, according to the British Ministry of Defence.
The British Ministry of Defense estimates that approximately 450,000 Russian soldiers have been killed in the war in Ukraine, and nearly 3,000 tanks have been destroyed.
That’s what the UK Defense Journal writes.
John Healey, shadow defense minister from the opposition Labor party in the UK recently questioned how many Russians have been killed and injured since the war broke out, 24 February 2022.
Leo Docherty, Secretary of State in the UK Ministry of Defense responded as follows:
– We estimate that approximately 450,000 Russian soldiers have been killed or wounded, and tens of thousands more have already deserted since the conflict started. The number of personnel killed while serving in Russian private military companies is not clear, he replied.
Docherty elaborates further on material that has been destroyed.
– We also estimate that over 10,000 Russian armored vehicles, including nearly 3,000 tanks, 109 fixed-wing aircraft, 136 helicopters, 346 unmanned aerial vehicles, 23 naval vessels of all classes, and over 1,500 artillery systems of all types have been destroyed, abandoned or captured by Ukraine since the conflict started, he concluded.
