Peter Phillips is the son of Princess Anne (73) – King Charles’ younger sister, and thus also the grandson of the late Queen Elizabeth.
In a television interview with Australian Sky News, Phillips talks about his cancer-stricken uncle.
The interview aired at the weekend, but was recorded for Princess Kate (42) stood up and announced that she is also receiving cancer treatment.

In early February, it became known that King Charles (75) had been diagnosed with a form of cancer, and that he is receiving treatment. The world did not then know that his daughter-in-law was in a similar situation.
In the interview with Peter Phillips, the subject is the king’s cancer.
– He is in good spirits, says the nephew – before adding:
– But fundamentally, I think he is very frustrated. He is frustrated that he cannot do everything he wants to do.
However, Phillips explains that the king understands that there is now a period in which he must primarily concentrate on himself.
That a person so close to the innermost core of the royal family appears in such an interview is one of the rarities.
Phillips is in Australia on an official mission in connection with the charity.
The 46-year-old states that although the king is now mostly relieved of his duties, he is very involved in what happens under the auspices of the court.
– He constantly puts pressure on everyone around him, the employees, doctors and nurses, to convince them that he can do one thing and the other, explains the nephew.
Phillips himself concludes that Charles is “very eager to return to normal”.
– He is probably just frustrated that the convalescence period seems to be taking longer than he would have liked.
The type of cancer King Charles has is not known.
The monarch conducts audiences and formal paperwork, but he is advised not to participate in public for the time being, the royal house stated when they announced the news.
Princess Kate also did not explain what kind of cancer she is being treated for when she spoke out in a recent video – other than that cancer cells were discovered after a stomach operation in January.
She is now in a process of preventive treatment in the form of, among other things, chemotherapy, and is on sick leave.
In general, there is a lot of sickness in the royal family.
Sarah Ferguson (64), the Duchess of York, also has cancer. Ferguson was previously married to Prince Andrew (64), the king’s brother. She is the mother of Princess Eugenie (34) and Princess Beatrice (35).
The fact that Peter Phillips, unlike his cousins, does not have a princely title is due to the fact that in Great Britain only fathers in direct line of succession to the throne can pass on princely and princessly titles. The exception is if the mother is queen.
So even though mum Anne is a princess, her children don’t have titles.
