In an interview with Sky News Australia on Sunday, Peter Phillips became the first member of the British royal family to reveal details about how the king is doing.

It comes just days after Princess Kate, the wife of the king’s eldest son Prince William, revealed on Friday that she is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.

Phillips is the son of Princess Anne and the eldest of the late Queen Elizabeth’s eight grandchildren. He says that his uncle is frustrated that the convalescence is taking longer than he would like.

– He’s frustrated that he can’t get ahead and do everything that he wants to be able to do, says Phillips.

Although the king is pragmatic and understands that recovery will take time, he is eager to return to a normal state, according to Phillips.

Queen Camilla said earlier this week that her husband is “very well”. 75-year-old King Charles has said he hopes to be able to attend Easter services with his family next Sunday.

Kensington Palace has made it clear that neither Kate nor heir to the throne William will be present at the service in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
