MALMÖ (Dagbladet): On Thursday evening, Israel will go out into the musical fire and compete for a place in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday.
– Can beat Sweden!
The participation continues to create strong reactions.
Since Dagbladet took over the city of Malmö on Sunday, security has been very high and the city has been heavily guarded by armed police.
Ahead of both the second semi-final and the final on Saturday, protests have been announced as a result of the country being allowed to participate.
On Wednesday, Israel’s participant, Eden Golan (20), carried out important tests – and showed himself publicly to the press and fans for the first time.
– Like sunk into the ground
Dagbladet was present during the rehearsals for the press earlier today, and there was little doubt that the atmosphere was tense when the country entered the stage to perform “Hurricane”.
Dagbladet’s reporters can report a muted audience during Israel’s performance, and fierce booing afterwards.
Also during the public test, the artist was booed off the stage.
Last week, the message came from the EBU that Palestinian flags would be prohibited during this year’s Eurovision. Despite strict security, there were still some in the stands who managed to slip in a large Palestinian flag during the audience tests on Thursday. That’s what Expressen writes.
EBU: – Sorry
It comes after Eric Saade clearly showed where he stands in the opening show on Tuesday, entering the stage with a Palestine scarf wrapped around his hand.
