If there is anyone who has excelled in the TV 2 program “The Game”, it is Danby Choi (30). He is usually editor-in-chief of the cultural newspaper Subjekt, but this year made his reality debut.
– Drita all the time
In the house, or rather in the luxury villa, there is no doubt that the participants enjoy the goodies they are served. A full fridge with good food and drink was available around the clock – and Dagbladet has previously mentioned that they constantly had a glass or two of wine or beer during filming.
For some, the benefits and luxuries also come home.
Uses several thousand
Choi tells Dagbladet that he either eats out or uses take away every single day.
– I eat all meals out and do not cook myself. I wonder if this is much more common than many people think, at least if you are a city boy, he says, adding:
– Very sad
– It’s quite common among friends of mine too, if you don’t eat all your meals out, then a lot goes in Foodora.
The 30-year-old believes that he gets more for eating out than for going to the store to buy food.
– I usually say that I can’t afford to cook my own food at home, because when I go to the store I can’t buy one-seventh of a head of lettuce, then I have to eat the same thing every day for seven days to make it up, he laughs.
– Otherwise, I have to throw food away, and that is a very poor and expensive alternative. I simply think that it is more profitable, and I also get much better food.
Responding to this
– How much do you think you save on it?
– It’s probably a bit stilted when I say that I save money on it, but I probably spend between eight and ten thousand kroner a month on eating all meals out, he says.
– Cheaper and faster
However, the “Game” participant points out that it is not always as glamorous as people might think.
– It can quickly turn into a take away for NOK 169 on the way from work, because I sit for ten hours at work and haven’t had time to make anything, he tells Dagbladet.
Although Choi is not very active in the kitchen, he has once been responsible for his own meals. These days he is happy to help and describes himself as a “good assistant” in the kitchen.
– I can come across as emotionless
– I think there are too many good arguments for choosing to eat out. One is that you choose to support local cultural life, the second is that you get much better food and the third is that you spend much less time. In 2024, it will have become much cheaper and faster to eat meals out, he concludes.
