This is stated by the police, who emphasize that it is too early to say whether it is an accident or an incident of violence.
They moved out on Tuesday morning after finding an injured person at a pharmacy in Arendal. Now they confirm that it is a woman, and that she has been confirmed dead.
The police are on the scene to investigate what happened.
– Life-saving first aid was attempted, but unfortunately life could not be saved. Relatives are in the process of being notified. The police have cordoned off a larger area around the pharmacy and are now working to question any witnesses, says police attorney Vanja Bruvoll in the Agder police district.
It is too early to say anything about what has happened, Bruvoll points out.
– We will provide more information as soon as possible.
The police are now asking any witnesses to contact the police on telephone 02800. This concerns people who have been in the pedestrian street in Arendal by Boots pharmacy between 9am and 9.25am on Tuesday.
To Nettavisen, store manager Anita Nielsen says that two police cars and two ambulances were on the scene, and that the entire street has been blocked off.
