Dawid Kubacki (33) suddenly disappeared from the Raw Air finale in Vikersund for personal reasons. Now he states that his wife has become seriously ill.

That’s what the jumping star writes on Instagram. Kubacki writes that his wife Marta ended up in hospital because of her heart.

– She is in a bad condition, and doctors are fighting to save her life. She is in good hands, she is a strong girl. I know she will fight, writes the Pole.

– Of course this is the end of the season for me, but it is not important now, he writes.

Show jumping manager Clas Brede Bråthen sympathizes with Kubacki and the family.

Just ahead of Sunday’s Raw Air qualification in Vikersund, the news came that the Pole had left the ski flying slope in a hurry.

In purely sporting terms, it meant that Halvor Egner Granerud was named overall winner of the World Cup already ahead of Sunday’s race. Kubacki was the only one who could pass the Norwegian in the summary.

Dawid Kubacki is one of show jumping’s biggest profiles. He became world champion in the normal slope in Seefeld in 2019. In addition, he has a WC gold in the team competition.
