Even after months of beta testing, weaker performance has been revealed.

It has not been confirmed what is wrong

Problems can arise with Nvidia cards and the 2022 update that was released on Tuesday this week after what should have been a robust test period considering how long it lasted. Perhaps it is Nvidia that has not followed up?

However, some customers are experiencing issues with unstable FPS, sudden jumps, and lower than expected CPU usage.

One theory is that there are so-called “overlays” such as the one that can be brought up with alt+r for Nvidia owners and show information about temperature, FPS etc.

An affected user reported back to Nvidia’s representative that removing the info box did not help.

It might be smart to wait to update

Nvidia confirms they are investigating the problem, and with that they also confirm the biggest bug after launch. Other than this, the launch seems to have gone quite well.

Apple has also had a fairly good launch with iOS 16 (as opposed to iOS 15), and already followed up last night with an important update.

If you haven’t updated to 2022 yet, it might be smart to wait until Nvidia releases a new driver, or Microsoft updates Windows 11.
