These are the games you get with PlayStation Plus in April

--

It’s almost April, and as usual with a new month, Sony has new PlayStation Plus games on the way. This time, subscribers can grab Immortals of Aveum, Minecraft Legends and Skul: The Hero Slayer.

The month also offers a pack of costumes and other cosmetics for Overwatch 2.

The games will be available from April 2nd through Monday May 6th. All three can be downloaded and played regardless of which PlayStation Plus subscription you have – i.e. Essential, Extra or Premium.

Immortals of Aveum (PlayStation 5)

Immortals of Aveum, the debut game from Ascendant Studios, launched last summer. The first-person shooter with magic instead of firearms never became a blockbuster, but according to our reviewer, there was more than enough fun to be found in the game.

– I enjoyed a completely perfect game, which is not perfect in any way whatsoever. Sometimes uncomplicated, silly action and fun is just what I needed. And there Immortals of Aveum delivers in buckets and pails, wrote Gøran Solbakken.

Minecraft Legends (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5)

Xbox Game Studios

Minecraft Legends took Mojang’s blocky world in a new direction in 2023, focusing on action-based real-time strategy. It was all a good combination, our reviewer thought, although there were several weaknesses to trace.

– However, it is a bit unfortunate that the game is so dependent on being played with others, and preferably famous ones, in order to reach its full entertainment potential. Alone it feels like the game goes a little slowly, and with others without communication the experience suffers a bit from chaos, wrote Håvard Ruud.

Side-scrolling platform action is on the menu in Skul: The Hero Slayer. The game from developer Southpaw Games was originally released for PC in early 2021 and came to PlayStation 4 later that year.

The game can be reminiscent of Dead Cells, both in the way it looks and works. Here, players must get through randomly generated levels, fight increasingly tougher enemies and start over when you die.
