The stage is set for another Liverpool game, just three days after Everton sent the Reds out of the race for the Premier League title. Fortunately, Jürgen Klopp’s team face a West Ham team that has been in at least as poor form recently.

David Moyes and co have one paltry win since the 5-0 game against Freiburg on 14 March. A close away game against Wolverhampton three weeks ago is the only exception.

In addition, the London club has also been kicked out of the Europa League after a loss and a draw against the superb Leverkusen. Last weekend, the bad trend continued with a horrible 2-5 loss against city rivals Crystal Palace.

Although the form has failed completely, the burgundy jerseys still have the opportunity to reach the top 7, or rather a European place. Moyes was asked about that before Saturday’s game.

– We are in eighth place with four games left. It’s an incredible position to be in and we’ve played 12 or 13 games more than any team that hasn’t played outside of Europe. From our point of view, we are still in the game and we will do everything to make it, said the Scot.

In the opposite half of the pitch, Liverpool await, who are also not in fantastic form at the moment. The West Ham boss does not want to send the Reds out of the title race just yet.

– I find it difficult to accept that they are out. They had a weak result, but the other teams (City and Arsenal) will also play difficult games. I think they are still in the game. The fact that they are in that position does not surprise me, because they are a football club that is always challenging for titles, said Moyes.

– He is in training

The big question in the West Ham camp before the match is whether star player Jarrod Bowen will make the match. The winger has not featured in three of the last four games (including last weekend) but played 90 minutes in the second leg against Leverkusen. It was the only match that did not end in a loss.

– He is back in training, so there is a good chance that he will be available. We are keeping an extra eye on him for the time being, replied Moyes.

Nayef Aguerd, Konstantinos Mavropanos and George Earthey are the other absences from West Ham’s squad.

– We have a couple of problems at center back. Nayef (Aguerd) is not available. Dinos (Mavropanos) have a chance, but we have to look at that situation.

Liverpool have to manage without Conor Bradley and Diogo Jota, in addition to the long-term injured Joel Matip, Thiago and Ben Doak.
