That’s what The New York Times writes.

In 2010, the top American politician with presidential ambitions experienced memory loss and mental fog. The state of health must have appeared so serious that a friend became concerned that Robert F. Kennedy jr. could have a brain tumour, according to the newspaper.

The information is said to have been revealed in a divorce declaration from 2012, writes The New York Times.

– I obviously have cognitive problems. I have short-term memory loss and I have long-term memory loss that affects me, Robert Kennedy Jr. stated. at the time, according to the newspaper.

Incidentally, the divorce was never completed because his wife Mary Richardson Kennedy took her own life.

Two years earlier, Kennedy is said to have said under oath that he had consulted several of America’s leading neurologists to find out what was wrong with him.

Some of the doctors had previously treated his uncle, Senator Edward M. Kennedy, who died of brain cancer in 2009.

– Had eaten part of the brain

Doctors noticed a dark spot on Kennedy Jr.’s brain scan. and concluded that he had a tumor, claims the presidential candidate.

He was immediately booked in for surgery at Duke University Medical Center by the same surgeon who had operated on his uncle.

While Kennedy Jr. packed and getting ready for hospitalization, he is said to have received a call from a doctor at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

This doctor was of a different opinion to those who thought it was brain cancer: Kennedy Jr. probably had a dead parasite in his head.

– The doctor believed that what was seen on my scans “was caused by a worm that had entered my brain and eaten part of it before it died,” claims Kennedy Jr.

USA expert: – A freak show

Professor Hilmar Mjelde at Høgskulen på Vestlandet, snorts at the latest antics in the saga of Robert F. Kennedy jr.’s candidacy:

– This is in line with his already bizarre candidacy. He was never a serious candidate. Now he becomes a joke on the evening talk shows, says Mjelde to VG.

– His whole candidacy is a freak show. He is a conspiracy theorist who is against vaccines and believes that it is Biden who threatens democracy rather than Trump.

The consequence for Kennedy jr. Now that the brainworm story is coming out, it can be brutal, believes US expert Hilmar Mjelde.

– Curiosities like this can be completely defining for a candidate because presidential elections are a mix of politics and entertainment. Just like Kirsti Noem and the puppy and Mitt Romney’s dog on the car roof.

Candidates of record age

Voters both hope and fear that Kennedy jr. could affect the outcome between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

As an independent presidential candidate, Kennedy Jr. highlighted his good physical shape. He has also emphasized that he is younger than his two competitors:

Incumbent President Joe Biden (81) and challenger Donald J. Trump (77) are the oldest people ever to run for president in the United States.

Biden is criticized for appearing to a small extent for interviews and has received a lot of attention for constant blunders on the podium.

Trump, for his part, is currently sitting in the courtroom in New York in the so-called “kickback case”. There, porn star Stephanie A. Gregory Clifford (45) – better known as Stormy Daniels – testifies against the former president.

According to Clifford, the two had a sexual encounter that Trump allegedly paid her to keep a secret about.

Trump is charged with breaching the Accounting Act in connection with a payment of 130,000 dollars, just over 1.4 million Norwegian kroner, to Clifford.

He is the first former president in US history to be indicted in a criminal case.

– Does not have a serious election campaign apparatus

US researcher Hilmar Mjelde is surprised that the worm story linked to Robert F. Kennedy jr. has not been previously known.

– That his team thought they could keep this hidden is just further proof that he does not have a serious election campaign apparatus around him, says the professor to VG.

He leaves little hope for any victory for the 70-year-old. But Kennedy Jr. as a third candidate can influence the election results in individual states, believes Mjelde.

– There is a certain chance that Kennedy can influence the election result in Michigan – which will be a pure thriller state this autumn.
